Conceptualised and developed under the cosmic constellations of last year’s shifts, which affected all living and non-living worlds, the exhibition is a presentation of works conceived in relation to three distinctive indigenous localities and communities. Together, they form an imaginary triangular cardinality in the Indonesian archipelago: Minahasa, Ciptagelar, and Osing. Apart from the steady and urgent worldly struggles of the communities to affirm themselves in their antagonistic relation to the state, this project proposes a different route, namely a collaborative-based effort to give agency to the realm of the super-sensuous, which shapes the situated cosmogonies understood as forms of local resistance. How can ancestral kinships be reimagined from a more feminist, non-binary frame of reference? How can they transform the measures we apply to collective living in a post-pandemic world order? And what forms of resistance can emerge from the allyship between the living and the non-living alike?

The project was developed by Adelina Luft with support from Blend-In Studios and funded by the Romania National Cultural Fund Administration (AFCN).
